Out Of Your Mind
Out Of Your Mind, by Alan Watts
In order to come to your senses, Alan Watts often said, you sometimes need to go out of your mind. Perhaps more than any other teacher in the West, this celebrated author, former Anglican priest, and self-described spiritual entertainer was responsible for igniting the passion of countless wisdom seekers to the spiritual and philosophical delights of India, China, and Japan.
With Out of Your Mind, you are invited to immerse yourself in six of this legendary thinker's most engaging teachings on how to break through the limits of the rational mind and expand your awareness and appreciation for the great game unfolding all around us. Distilled from Alan Watts’s pinnacle lectures, Out of Your Mind brings you an inspiring new resource that captures the true scope of this brilliant teacher in action.
For those both new and familiar with Watts, this book invites us to delve into his favorite pathways out of the trap of conventional awareness, including:
• The art of the “controlled accident”—what happens when you stop taking your life so seriously and start enjoying it with complete sincerity
• How we come to believe “the myth of myself”—that we are skin-encapsulated egos separate from the world around us—and how to transcend that illusion
• Why we must fully embrace chaos and the void to find our deepest purpose
• Unconventional and refreshing insights into the deeper principles of Buddhism, Hinduism, Western philosophy, Christianity, and much more....

Transmission: Receiving the Living Wisdom of Spiritual Teachers
Transmission: Receiving the Living Wisdom of Spiritual Teachers, by Jack Kornfield
What is transmitted from a spiritual teacher to a student? The possibilities of love and freedom, of living in a joyful heart. Extraordinary spiritual teachers empower us, pointing us towards our own awakening. In their presence, we can feel the qualities of enlightenment rather than just hearing about them, and we are inspired to see in a new way. With Transmission, author and teacher Jack Kornfield shares eight sessions of in-depth teachings illuminating the student-teacher relationship. Through a treasure trove of personal stories about the Dalai Lama, Chögyam Trungpa, Dipa Ma, Ajahn Chah, and other masters, we see how teachers embody the many facets of the jewel of enlightened consciousness - including humor, discipline, humility, joyousness, uncanny perspicacity, and unfathomable compassion - and how we, too, can fully awaken these qualities in ourselves.
Exploring such topics as devotion, the tender heart of sadness, meditation, and patience, Jack reveals the power of opening one's heart to a true spiritual teacher as well as the potential pitfalls and challenges of the teacher-student relationship. With warmth, humor, and practical advice-including what to do if there are no spiritual teachers near your home, Transmission opens possibilities for anyone to deepen, practice, and awaken. Read more

We Are God
This beautifully written little treasure is more than just a teaching on love; it is filled with inspiring insights into the nature of transcendence, life, death, reincarnation, and the necessity of struggle. We Are God portrays all sentient life as consciousness that is impelled toward spiritual union with all that exists in the vast expanse of eternity and assures us that the path to union is transcendent love. We are not adrift in a savage world, forsaken by a fickle, reclusive deity. We are here on our own authority to experience and perfect love because it is our very nature to do so. And the first step in perfecting love is recognizing that what we think of as God is not other but you and I right here, right now. And as we cultivate our capacity to love ourselves, others and the planet we inhabit, we see that the very numinosity that we mistook for God is the radiance of our own eternal nature shining forth through our lives and reflected back to us in the lives of others. We are, in fact, that which we seek disguised in our own familiar forms. How we connect to our spiritual nature and our life purpose, how we incorporate them into our daily lives, and how we open our hearts to those around us are among the lessons in this wonderful little book, which pours forth from the very core or our own human heart.
Alexis Mohr has spent a lifetime contemplating the experience of the divine in everyday life. As a child she had several experiences which imbued her with a life-long curiosity about spiritual forces which underlie daily life, and prompted her to explore the religious life, starting with several forms of mainstream Christianity. Eventually, she came to believe that organized religion serves only to dampen our capacity and instinct to uncover our deepest potential. Believing that all truly spiritual journeys are solitary she explored many states of consciousness through meditation and fasting, and came to believe that what we think of as God and imagine to be external is, in fact, we ourselves. "We Are God" came into being as a series of stream-of-consciousness writings. Alexis describes it as a love letter from Us to Ourselves.

Occupy the Moment: A Mindful Path to a New Economy
Occupy the Moment lays out a path to a new economy based on the principles of Buddhist Economics pioneered by E. F. Schumacher in his book Small is Beautiful a generation ago. The new Buddhist economics is informed by neuroscience and behavioral economics, and is integrated with the practice of attention to the present moment known as mindfulness.
The current economic crisis is the result of the growth of a culture of greed over the last 30 years. While political action can help, greed is essentially a spiritual problem. In the Four Noble Truths, the Buddha described the causes of greed and a way to heal it through practices like mindfulness.
Occupy the Moment presents a set of meditation practices to show how to become mindful of sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch. Mindfulness helps overcome greed by quieting the inner voice that tells us that what we have is not enough. When mindful, you find the present moment to be fresh and engaging. Happiness is within your reach right now.
Mindfulness as presented in Occupy the Moment is a secular practice suitable for people of all religious orientations, and is entirely consistent with mainstream academic science. By being more mindful, the 99% can change the culture from one that promotes greed to one that honors compassion. Occupy the Moment shows us how to do it.
